main/franchise dealers

We bought our Octy 2.0 140bhp dsg Elegance from a franchise dealer 55 plate with 8000 on the clock. Its our first Skoda and it has lived up to what i have read about it,that it is one of the best cars we have had. It has been back under warranty 3 times regarding a/c compressor and other a/c problems and the dealer has been satisfactory. Its work shop has many taxi's being serviced so i suppose they must be ok. Am i right in thinking that a franchise dealer should be as good for serviceing as a maine one?.

Re: main/franchise dealers

Aren't all main dealers franchised?

There are some smaller Skoda dealers that have dropped out of the main dealer network (mainly for sales) for a variety of reasons but are continuing to provide full servicing with Skoda UK backup (for warranty jobs). These guys might well be better than some of the newer dealers simply because their staff have been looking after Skodas for longer.

Re: main/franchise dealers

Yes all the dealers are privately owned and franchised. Pretty much the same all through the trade AFAIK.
