Unhappy Maxi-Dot NO ENTRY

Hi

I have a 05 2.0TDi Elegance and I keep reading on this forum about changes that can be made in the maxi-dot. When I try, I get the legend 'NO ENTRY'. Has my maxi-dot gone wrong, do I have an old version or has it just been locked?

All help greatly received.

Cheers

Mark

Re: Maxi-Dot NO ENTRY

Are you trying to do it with the vehicle parked or whilst moving?

Many functions are locked when moving.

Hi Stu

The car is parked, hand brake on and in neutral. Engine running though.

Re: Maxi-Dot NO ENTRY

It might sound silly but have you read the manual?

Are you trying to access something you don't have?

Re: Maxi-Dot NO ENTRY

My manual doesn't mention maxi-dot. I remember reading on this forum that someone had a list of what maxi-dot does. Does anyone else remember this?

It is quite possible that I am trying to access something I don't have. Are there different versions of maxi-dot? Can a newer version be uploaded?

My car is due a service again in a few weeks so I will ask the dealer then if this is possible. My local dealer went out of business earlier in the year.

Re: Maxi-Dot NO ENTRY

Have you the doors/boot/bonnet closed ?

I could be wrong but does the seat belt affect it aswell, I think this goes away after a while.

Re: Maxi-Dot NO ENTRY

Thanks Gaff

After looking at the pictures, a lot of those functions are not on my car. I will ask the dealer who will be servicing my car if it is possible to upgrade the software on the car. I will post the result but I am guessing the answer will be no.

Thanks

I have only few of the options aswell (a lot of the convience ones are missing), I asked the question on here about upgrading but its a new Control Module IIRC, it's nice to have but not essential.

Is there something in particular you want to do ? Maybe someone with VagCom could do it...if you asked them nicely

Re: Maxi-Dot NO ENTRY

Hi Gaff

The one thing I would like is the anti-highjack door lock, mainly because I know what that is. Some of the other stuff would probably be handy, but you never know how good it is until you've lost it!!

Put up a thread to see if anyone near you has VagCom...there ain't much hassle getting that turned on IIRC
