| MF steering and controller part-number Hi I want to by a MF steering for my 2007 Octavia, and I have got some info with part numbers from my dealer (which has horrendous prices, by the way...), and I have a question about partnumbers that I find a little bit confusing. Need to sort it out before buying from abroad. The part number on the controller in my car is 1K0 953 549 BC, and TallioN used 1K0 953 549 AQ. Will it work on my controller? The letters behind the number is maybe some kind of software revision code and therefore not important in this case? *fingers crossed* ![]()

| Re: MF steering and controller part-number The AQ should be fine. Most cars seem to be coming with the BC at the moment. I would be interesting to try it with the BC before you fit the AQ.

| Re: MF steering and controller part-number Ok. Too bad there is not a compatibility list somewhere... ![]() Had to check around a bit. The one the dealer wants to sell me is 1K0 953 549 BK. But searching around tells me there is a ton of different versions of this controller (with different letters behind the partnumber). And I can not find the "BK" version anywhere. I found a used AQ, but I'd feel better if I knew the differences between these. I don't wanna loose any other functionality. Argh. Decisions, decisions. "To buy ot not to buy, that's the question."

Try here, Cruise Control Retrofitting (1K) - Ross-Tech Wiki There's a pretty good cross-reference list on what controller is working with what function and with what slip rings they're compatible with. edit: And there seems to be an error on the list. It list's the AQ module as a midline variant which doesn't support MFSW when infact this has been confirmed to work by numerous sources. Last edited by downtime; 07-02-2008 at 17:47. | |

| Re: MF steering and controller part-number Ah. Thats great. Thx. I remember seeing this a few days ago, but obviously didn't read it properly .As the AQ seems to work with MFSW and obviously supports Cruise and trip, it should be a safe bet. I can se "my" BK listed as a highline part, though. And the original in my car, BC, isn't there at all. I think I can get hold of a second hand (a crashed Golf, I think it was) AQ controller. Unless someone can source a new AQ or BK at a decent price from somewhere...

| Re: MF steering and controller part-number Make sure you don't break it getting it off. The fixings are kinda hidden.

| Re: MF steering and controller part-number Mine had the BC version, and we had to "downgrade" to AQ to get it working
