MFD2 without Dual Zone

one quick question.

Before i purchase an MFD2 off ebay can you fit it to a vRS without Dual zone as i havent ever seen one like that and when you order the MFD2 as an option it states you must order dual zone and maxidot.

A definate answer would be a great help as i dont wanna spend around £450 to have it sat at home because it doesnt fit.

Has anyone done this??

Plus I could put that £450 towards a remap instead

Cheers

Carl

Re: MFD2 without Dual Zone

Tony - AKA Fluffmeister has it in his without Dual Zone, I'm sure there are others too.

They say Maxidot is essential due the additional display - it isn't it's just nice to have.

Cripes, where have you been looking to buy one from?. Someone very recently paid only £249 + £40 carriage for a Skoda one.

See link.

If you can live without the 'Buy it Now' feature then you should be able to get one for around the £300-£350 mark quite easily.

Re: MFD2 without Dual Zone

Or try a local breakers yard! Got mine from there, good thing was I knew that the set was the same age as my car and had been factory fitted, So got the instruction book as well! By the time I had got the GPS antenna as well, it came to £300 with an "if it doesn't work we'll give you your money back" offer!

Thanks to VRStu fitting was easy and I'm now a very happy Womble!!

Next stop is to get a multimedia input so I can not only us my iPod for audio, but Video as well!!!!

Stu, I might need to pick your brains about wiring it in depending on the one I go for. Thanks again guys!

No. What the guy is reffering to is that the early versions of MFD2 DVD required a software update to play Audio CD's in the headunit. Not really an issue as I have the software upgrade on disk
