Mileometer Default Settings

I've just swapped my Fabia vRS for an Octavia vRS - for reasons of practicality - an am extremely happy all round!

However. There's one tiny niggle that's really bugging me with the driver info display. With the ignition off, the display shows total miles travelled (ie a normal mileometer). When the ignition is switched on the display changes to the trip miles. I know I can change back to total miles by pressing the trip reset button, but does anyone know if you can change the default to stay on total miles travelled rather than trip? I've read the manual (shock, horror) and searched these hallowed pages, but to no avail.

I know this is an insignificant gnat of a problem, but I'd be dead chuffed if anyone can help! Show's what a great all-round motor it is if that's all I can find that I don't like!!!

Thanks in advance. Please feel free to start any replies with 'Get a life.....', I accept that I deserve it!

Re: Mileometer Default Settings

Get a life ..............................actually I had wondered about this before but never got round to finding out. Cars with Maxidot display both total and trip miles but I'm sure there must be a way of enabling total miles as the default with VagCom but I'm sure someone will be along that can tell you how to do it.

trip computer

How can I stop the display showing the trip computer reading instead of the miles done reading when the car starts as for some reason it always defaults back to showing trip when I start the car?

Any ideas as it is starting to get on my nerves

Paul.

Re: Mileometer Default Settings

So I'm not so sad as I thought as at least one other Briskodian has had the same sleepless nights....

Can anyone out there put us both out of our misery?
