missing signal oil level/temperature - anyone else got this hi all, Just had 2.0TDI serviced after 10k, all well, but garage said diagnostics had reported a fault, I have the print-out and it says "malfunction recognized", "control module for instrument panel insert", "Missing signal oil level/temperature". They said to pop in next time and get it looked at. I checked my oil-level two weeks later and it was at the maximum on the dipstick. Anyone else had this ? Cheers.

Re: missing signal oil level/temperature - anyone else got this Sounds like a faulty sender unit. Without a plausible signal for oil temperature, the ECU will use water temp, so no huge impact to engine running there. You will however miss the warning for low oil level and if you are on Variable servicing, I "expect" that there may be an impact to "miles before next service" As they said, get it checked out.

Re: missing signal oil level/temperature - anyone else got this thanks for the replies guys, I thought it was something I could ignore, but obviously not. Thats two faults on a less than one year old car. Bit of a pain (other fault was bonnet wouldnt open - now sorted).
