Motorpoint vRS

well put a deposit on a race blue VRS, went to look and found one there - it wasnt on the website. Previously visited 2 Skoda dealerships and came away from both without any figures!! Know its an import but seems well specced, got a good PX too, Time will tell if it was the right decision, but the price seemed right and it was there waiting!

Re: Motorpoint vRS

I think you just have to strike lucky. I went on the off chance one lunch break as I work in Burnley and there was a black magic one for just under 14k. Needless to say, I had put a deposit down with 24 hours....

My only criticism with Motorpoint is they can be a little pushy with finance/GAP insurance etc.

Re: Motorpoint vRS

Wildrover,

Did you get the manuals with the car and did you have to register the warranty with Skoda?

Re: Motorpoint vRS

You get everything buddy - all manuals, mats etc

You will need to register your car with Skoda UK for uk warranty but that is simple enough just ring them for your 2 years warranty!

Plus your car will come with the daylight running lights constantly on - drop it to a skoda dealer and they will turn them off - cost me a tenner.

Whilst you are there get them to change it to variable servicing - or like me you will get a prompt from the computer to service after 4,000 miles as Frank borda's in Malta - where they come from dont set it. 10 min job for both at your local dealers.

im well chuffed with mine! near enough full spec for peanuts! happy motoring!

Stubax,

All the manuals were supplied and they are in English - A friend of mine bought a Peugeot from there a few years ago and Motorpoint gave him 20 quid to buy the manual from the main dealer because the manuals with the Car was in Spanish!

Didn't know about about the warranty point, so thanks to Octaviavrsman for the info. I did have an Alfa from Motorpoint in 2005 and didn't have a problem with warranty work at the main dealer.

Is yours from the Burnley branch?

Re: Motorpoint vRS

Thanks for the comments, picking the car up from Burnley today. Been as good as a main dealer to deal with so far. One last question - do these cars come with the alarm?

This is the big difference between buying an import and buying a UK car (which has a 3 year warranty). I guess the discount you get on purchase price reflects this....

Re: Motorpoint vRS

Collected the car, well pleased with it so far, seems so much better than my previous mk1. Only quibble was that the valet/prep could have been done better, however that was soon sorted, Just got to sort the warranty, get the daylight headlights turned off, not much effort for over £2k saving: Yet to find anything lacking from full UK spec apart from the 18" alloys, anybody know any other differences?

Re: Motorpoint vRS

18" alloys are not standard on UK spec either, they are optional.

Looks like a good deal there.

Re: Motorpoint vRS

I've used Motorpoint before I thought they were good. I'd have taken a basic spec VRs for 14k over mine for a 3k saving.

Get some pics posted then mate.

Re: Motorpoint vRS

My vRS was the second car I bought from Motorpoint (the first being a Peugeot 406...OK OK I know......).

You are right about the valeting and of course the warranty only being 2 years, not 3 but in my view £4k extra from the main dealer is an awful lot of money to pay for a 1 year extended warranty and a car wash.

In my opinion Motorpoint do a great job and have always been happy to assist with after sales problems where they can.

Re: Motorpoint vRS

It cost £299 to bring the warranty up to 3 years, and thats for a comprehensive warranty.
