| MP3 AUX in buzzing noise? Does anyones MP3 jack socket buzz badly when you just put in the stereo lead? Mine does and did on an 08 Octavia at my local dealer when I went to check it with them. I know the first thing to check is the cable which is why I checked all 6 of mine! They work in other domestic equipment with no problems but there is quite a buzz when you put the cable in, almost like there is a bad earth connection. I would have thought as there is no electrical connections then the jack lead is purely an extention of the wire to the radio but puzzlingly as soon as my Ipod is connected it stops? I Realise this is trivial and livable but making bad buzzing feedback noises sounds bad to me and could be doing potential harm only for it to fail later. The local dealer checked my firmware on the Stream MP3 but said my coding is newer than the latest update. They have ordered the official Skoda MP3 lead as that should cure it ![]() |

| Re: MP3 AUX in buzzing noise? its normally when either the left or right touches the earth via your skin as your body contains small amount of electrical current and is a conductor. |

| Re: MP3 AUX in buzzing noise? I had this in mine if it wasn't plugged into my iPod. I wouldn't worry about really as seems to be quite common!

| Re: MP3 AUX in buzzing noise? A16NS V Well, did the Skoda cable work better or not ? Ive tried a long high quality cable I use for inputting analogue music into my PC and buzzes like mad ! So was wondering if the Skoda cable was somehow better. Anyone else got any advice on this matter ?

| Re: MP3 AUX in buzzing noise? I opted for a fairly expensive shielded AUX cable and I noticed an improved sound quality and better volume over the cheap boggo effort. Golden rule: Never scrimp on interconnects!! Could it be the unplugged lead picking up noise from it's surroundings and sending it to the head unit? this can't happen so much if plugged in to a device. Cars are pretty 'noisy' places when it comes to audio systems and interference. A shielded cable is always a better option if possible as it reduce the amount of noise induced into it when unplugged and when in use. If you still get hum when plugged in at both ends that could be a noise filter/ground loop problem. Xenons can cause big problems with noise as well, the high voltage/high frequency ballasts do not make good friends with audio equipment. I get a feint humming when my ipod is charging from the lighter socket and that is most likely ground loop thanks to my charger and the HU being earthed in different places and is pretty much unavoidable.
