Multifunction Steering wheel

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but what I really miss on my vRS is the steering wheel controls for the radio. Can the controls be fitted ? It looks like there is space on the wheel spokes for controls.

Thanks
John

Re: Multifunction Steering wheel

Someone has retrofitted a 4 spoke Elegance wheel with the buttons but it doesn't appeal to most.

You can also fit a Golf Mk.5 GTI 3 spoke wheel with the controls but I think you need a new steering column control unit and obviously a new air bag. That's pretty expensive.

I don't think you can fit buttons to the vRS steering wheel or someone would have done it by now.

Re: Multifunction Steering wheel

Sadly although the outline shape is on the vRS steering wheel it isn't removable.

I think the GTI conversion is the best way to go isn't it Stu? pretty pricey though IIRC and wrong coloured buttons.

Re: Multifunction Steering wheel

Yes I've been keeping a weather eye on the GTi/GT steering wheels. One thing I need to confirm is the airbag, if the vRS airbag would fit the GTi/GT wheel it would be soo much cheaper.
