My lovelly Octavia Elegance

Hi all,

Today I became the proud owner of a 2007 Octavia Elegance 1.9TDI DSG. My thanks to Jewsons Skoda, Oxford and to Warren the salesman who agreed a keen price and didn't push too much.

Been driving today to get used to it. This is my first automatic. Wow, such a comfortable drive and so easy. Got to drive my old manual car down to my daughter on Tuesday (120 miles) which I'm not looking forward to.

But I have a long trip to Pembrokeshire also next week in the Octavia.

Colin

Re: My lovelly Octavia Elegance

Tidy motor - almost identical to my flamenco red one. You might not be interested, but it was dead easy to fit front mudflaps, which are only about £16 from Skoda spares suppliers.

They are held on by 4 torx screws on each side and are good for stopping salt stones and mud battering the sills.

I also fitted some Osram Nightbreaker H1 main beams, although the reviews now say Philips Extreme are better. Good improvement over the original bulbs.

Anyway - enjoy your car - a great choice.

Re: My lovelly Octavia Elegance

Nice one!

Had mine around a month now and enjoyed best part of 2000 miles so far. It is a very easy drive and I've found the cruise control a real godsend (I do most of my mileage on motorways).

Definitely an RTFM vehicle though, lots of hidden toys

I've just looked at Ebay and they appear to be available for about £12.99+£2.99 P&P. Is that reasonable?

Re: My lovelly Octavia Elegance

For Philips Extreme that's about par for the course - you might do a bit better shopping around.
