Thanks mate, I'll keep this all in mind

... just need to get past the running in phase... need more time in the day! The speedo has caught me out a couple of times already!

Well 90mph is only about 3k rpm - so still below 3/4 rev range as advised by handbook.

Fair point, althouch IMHO 2,750rpm is nearer 90mph; 3,000rpm is getting close to the 'ton'.

Jumbo box etc was in the free kit promo.

I cant remember the exact total, it's like child birth easy to forget the pain... but it was about £18700. (Silverseal was £150 and boot mat £45 included in that). I think book price would be 21,045 with everything (or 20,145 if you assume the offer isn't added).

Basic car was £17,295 with the offer, via skodastore.com

I like the sunset glass it looks good on the estate and it's a good price when ordered with the car.
Unfortunately mine wasn't a factory order so I don't have it, but would like to get it done.
Anyone have any suggestions as to who to use for privacy glass?

Might help to post up what area of the country you are in - and perhaps start a specific thread to ask for tinting company recommendations (just to keep this one on-topic).

Pentagon Glass, using the Supaglass stuff so your windows can not be smashed from the outside. I've had two cars done by the Manchester Branch to include current Octy and my new vRS is booked to go in before delivery to me.

It's around £300 all in.

Well, I have the car a few months now. It's been a lot of fun, it doesn't feel as all out nuts as my previous mk1 vrs but it is more than pacy enough!

I've had a fair mixed bag of trips and now approaching something like 4000 miles which is increasing rapidly as it is hockey season now!

All in all I find the car a great place to be, very comfortable and more than interesting enough to look at. I've had some long drives, 6 or more hours without any of the numb bum issues I had in the mk1.

The standard handling is far superior to the mk1 (modified & std). I'm also fairly sure the ESP has helped me out a couple of time is the massive rainfalls we've had!

No problems with the DPF, but it is still early days I guess! I have also noticed a groaning/crunching when turning at very slow speeds so we'll see where that goes...
