| My Octy has arrived :) My Octy has arrived today, so I'll pick it up tomorrow. I went to see it when they were unloading it from the truck. I'm so hapy, can't wait till tomorrow, and as I'm working I'll be able to pick it up only in the late afternoon. It's Octy 2.0 TDI Sport Hatch, 140 HP, Silver, 17' wheels Pegasus, Xenon, front and back parking sensors, Audience radio, cell phone preparation, double floor boot, half-leather seats, cruise control and all you can imagine... As I was looking at it few hours ago, I've seen that cell phone support and asked my salesman how to use it and with what phone. He said: "Don't ask, it gave us so many troubles that now we simply advice our client not to touch it...". Why is that? Anyone installed the phone there? And which one? Anyway, car arrived one week later then I've expected, so I was driving one Polo my dealer gave me so I can go to work. And, First thing to do - modify that middle button for OFF on Climatronic, as adviced in other post. Second thing to do - change turning signs bulbs at the front and at the back to Philips Silver Vision I took off from my Toyota I've just sold. They look great. No more that yellow effect from bright white area in beams and (in this Octy) from the back. Heeeeeeeeeeeerreee I coooooooooooome... ![]() |

| Re: My Octy has arrived :) I hope it lives up to your expectations. I think in general we don't have phone prep in the UK as we change our phones quite a lot and the Skoda holders are for some of the older handsets.

| Re: My Octy has arrived :) OK, I've just picked it up. Here are first impressions: As I stated before, it has a lot of toys, but there is one that wasn't there: Double floor in the boot. I won't miss it, didn't like it anyway. Then, there is one thing that came that even my salesman was suprised and made that face - - , it's Sound System. His boss drives one (service car) the same as mine (2.0 TDI Sport) and has no Sound System. Then, salesman said: "It's probably just the stickers saying "Sound System" but it's probably not there." Then we looked under the drivers seat and aplifier was there. The sound was must. So, no double boot floor, but yes, Sound System. Now, there is one thing that I still don't consider as problem, but it might be. As I said in other post, I've got this car with great discount of 4000 euros (almost 3000 pounds) because it was in the showroom for 4 months. It happens that half of the surface of break discs is rusty. Not too much but rust is there. When I just picked up the car it was bit shaky on breaking and I knew why it was. Few miles later was better but as I've done only like 15 miles today rust is still there. So, I'll drive it for few more days and see if rust wipes away. What do you guys think? And more: - I've just changed yellow turning signs bulbs to Philips Silver Vision in headlights and backlights and there is no more that "egg" effect at the front and the back. It was especialy important to me to do it at the front. Now, the front has great look. As car is Silver, beams are now completely silver. - As adviced in other post, I've modified that Climatronic button in the middle and it's fully working. Great stuff. | Re: My Octy has arrived :) Give the brakes some hard work to do, the rust will soon clear. Sounds like a nice car, enjoy it! The boot floor can be fitted by your dealer, if you paid for it have it! Maybe a free service would be a good alternative?

And boot floor doesn't bother me. I've just edited previous post because I forgot to say about bulbs. What do you think? | |

| Re: My Octy has arrived :) As tom said, give the breaks a gentle warm up then find a nice clear stretch of road and do 70mph down to 10mph stops or whatever speed is legal there in a firm fashion. The rust wont last long ![]()

| Re: My Octy has arrived :) The Audience stereo, now comes with the upgraded sound system included. My Elegance is getting on towards 12 months old and just has the standard 8 speakers with the Audience. I have the variable floor in the back of mine, and sometimes find it a pain and wish it wasnt there.

| Re: My Octy has arrived :) I thought the variable boot floor came off if you wanted? Is it fastened so you can't remove it without tools? We were thinking about getting it for our Octy, but then didn't. Maybe we're better off without it... And.. We're getting our car tomorrow! Can't wait..

| Re: My Octy has arrived :) You have to unscrew few screws to get rid of it (tools required). I feel better without it. |

| Re: My Octy has arrived :) Oh yeah, I forgot to tell about Xenons... I was a bit woried about that "shaking" question and gave it a long ride in one terrible bumpy road that has lot of curves and walls all along the road (those long walls on bigger yards properties), so I could watch my Xenons on those walls. Anyway, I got very satisfied. No shaking at all, just two or three times I could see little shaking lasting for about second or two but it was on the places where road surface was so bad that you have to reduce to 15 mph. On those places I went a bit faster trying to provoke my Xenons to shake but it was hard to notice. So, I guess I could say the are OK. Other thing was that they were pointing to high so I had to compare them with my friend Octy (Xenons too) and mine were higher. I lowered them down a bit facing a white wall and I'll se of they are better now. I guess I have to go to visit some of those shops that have beams hight reader to confirm. I menage to confirm that my car went out of factory in March this year. I bought it as a stock car with 0 miles so got 4000 euros discount on final price. |

| Re: My Octy has arrived :) Personally I find the "false floor" a great feature. I put gloves, tools and other things I might want sometime in there and they are hidden from sight and out of the way. Also makes the floor flat so much easier to slide loads into the boot. |
