who is gonna be first to fit these to a new Octy - imagine would give a useful increase in performance and should be no more difficult than the Fab-> octy upgrade.....

Assuming prices for the setup are similar to the old R32 then I doubt it'd make financial sense to do the upgrade unless you could get the setup 2nd hand.

Re: New Octavia Brake upgrade.....

If you want good brakes, then check out ECS Tuning. They do a 3pce tru-float rotor system upgrade for A4s, etc so it be 5x112 and should fit the new Octy.

http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...%20Brake%20OEM

You use the stock claipers but get new hangers in the kit, and quite afew 'tuned' R32 cars run this set-up and it gets the thumbs up!!!

Its a 345mm system so it the same size as the new R32 brakes, but they cross-drill and gooved as well. I guess the only thing to check is that the new Octy's calipers are the same as the A4!

ECS tuning specialise in Audi and VW cars, but as Skoda is 80% + the same parts you should have very few issues with the main mechnacical parts.

I should imagine you'd need the 18" alloy option for brakes that big to fit? I like the idea of it though.

18" Alloys......... but of course! But same would be true if you opted for the R32 brake upgrade.

I do think you'd need it unless you were looking at over 250hp, which thru the front wheels is getting abit on the lairy side!

You could simply opt for cross-drilled / grooevd versions of the existing rotors, which will provide an ample increase in braking power!

Re: New Octavia Brake upgrade.....

A4 etc is a different fitment. Chassis leg/hub design is very different and also mounted on the other side of the disc (back edge)

Re: New Octavia Brake upgrade.....

New Octy is Golf 5 ; A4 is totally different car/platform; A3 would be comparable

They do an A3 / A3 Sportback upgardee for the 2.0T and 3.2V6, so that should fit then!!
