| Briskodian | After having my new octavia estate for about 4 months now I started noticing a rather annoying resonance noise coming from the trunk. This resonance occurs at higher speeds and particularly on roads with good but coarse surface. While sitting at the back yesterday I found the resonance goes away if I press down with my hands on the side trunk window sills (i.e. the parts underneath the side trunk windows with long narrow grills in them). Has anyone seen/heard about a similar problem? Should I go to the dealer with it or should try to investigate more? (My wife does not hear it and thinks I'm paranoid.) Thanks in advance for comments, Ben |

| Briskodian | Re: New octavia estate trunk vibrations/resonance I can not say I have ever noticed this problem, but then the first thing I did was fill the two side cubby holes with various bits and pieces, plus there is an elasticated expanding strap stopping a box crate sliding about. Have you tried putting anything in the side storage areas as it could be that your booming is coming from those? |

| Briskodian | Re: New octavia estate trunk vibrations/resonance Right try putting a couple of elasticated bungee straps from one side anchor hook to the other side and this will have the effect of tensioning those side panels you are pressing down on. That should remove any variation of those side panels, so if you still get your noise then it must be coming from another source. This like this are usually a case of going thru a process of elimination until you isolate the source and sometimes those sources can be very bizarre. |

| Re: New octavia estate trunk vibrations/resonance Something must be causing the vibration in the rear. I would check the wheel balance first
