Hi,

Picked up a 56 plate Octavia Elegance 2.0TDi today trading in an Elegance 1.9TDi.

First impressions are good, lots of nice improvements over the old car but keeping the nice handling, good boot space and general Audi quality for Ford money ethos.

Pros

Handling sharper
A bit quicker
Improved interior build quality
MP3 Stream much better than old radio
Better seats
Auto dimming mirror a nice touch
Headlights (not xenons) seem much brighter
More storage in the cabin
Arm rest better designed
More headroom (though that may be due to no sunroof)
Climate control layout better
One touch indicators
Cruise control better designed

Cons

Not as much storage in spare wheel space
Cigarette lighter socket appears to be intermittantly not working (believe this has happened to a few people)
There is wind noise from the drivers door

Will take it back to the dealer re the wind noise and the cigarette lighter socket.

However, very pleased with it on the whole.

Wind noise is I'm afraid pretty normal

Hi,

Okay, but was there not a thread or too on this forum about the doors causing the wind noise and it was a straightforward adjustment to stop it?

Also noticed today that the cover for the nearside headlight washer has fallen off!! Another item for the dealer to sort when it goes back in next week.
