New vRS - Cutch judder

I tok delivery of my new vRS last wed and since then it has develped a judder when puling off in 1st. Also, you have to be careful with the clutch when going from 1st to 2nd as it snaps if you are not careful.

My sound like im bein picky but there is a sight wine from the gearbox at low speeds.

I am I bein paranoid guys? Or is there known issues with the gearbox?

I'd take it back to the dealer mate... get them to sort it.

Definitely doesn't sound right. Mine doesn't do this, so I'd take it back to the dealer and get them to sort it.

Re: New vRS - Cutch judder

I used to have an impreza which did this, particularly if it had been sitting for a week or two without being used. The friction material on the clutch plate "glazes". The cure was to do a launch from about 3500 revs. Although this sounds a bit nasty, it cleans up the clutch plate and the car drove so much better afterwards!

Re: New vRS - Cutch judder

I have exactly the same problem on my 55 plate 1.9 TDi estate. It judders for the first two changes in the morning and then not all when everything has warmed up. It's got worse in the last few thousand miles, but I want to find out what is causing it before I go back to the dealer.

Re: New vRS - Cutch judder

Is it worse on cooler damp mornings? it could be a problem with the friction lining. Or it could be the ubiquitous dual mass flywheel problem. Either way it will be a dealer visit, if possible leave it with them overnight so they can experience the symptoms first hand.

Sooner rather than later if it's getting worse.

Re: New vRS - Cutch judder

i had a little of the judder in my new vrs pulling away in 1st too
i tried the dump the clutch at 3.5k and it certainly seems to have helped things
no whine and no probs from 1st to 2nd
will take the car back to the dealer if it persists

Re: New vRS - Cutch judder

I have exaxctly the same problem. shudders till it warms up and then it is perfect the rest of the time.
I have lived with it for a year (2005 2.0 TDI) since I was not too keen on car getting major surgery unneccessarily but it is soon going in for its service.
