| My Vrs is needing new tyres, I was thinking of changing the tyres only but I have been quoted £565 all in for 18" RS4 replica wheels with Avon ZZ3 tyres. At the moment I have 17" wheels, will it look daft switching to 18's without lowering? Does anyone have any experience of the Avon tyres? Cheers Brian |

| The only warning I would give with the Sessantas is that they seem to wear a bit quick. What's your experience Guy?

For my Ultrac Sessantas 225/45 17s; I checked my tread depth last weekend after about 5,000 miles and worked out that I'm likely to get 10 - 12,000 miles from the front, and maybe 18,000 from the rears. Now that's around 2/3rd the mileage compared to my Michelins, but they're 2/3rd the price - so even stevens ![]()

| I had Avon tyreson my last car (a Toyota). I didnt do many miles on them as I sold it but drove it to the South of France and back plus a bit more and they didnt appear to be noticeably noisy, they were good in the dry and good in the wet. Why not go on the Auto Express web site and see if you can view their bit tyre test? ATB, Jon. PS, I recall Avon made the skirts for the Hovercraft?? No Idea why I mentioned that! |

| I did exactly the same with my Leon when I needed 4 tyres and switched to 18" RS6's with the Avon tyres. They are OK in the dry but not quite as sharp as the Rosso's I had on the front in the wet, but that's more a comment on how good the Rosso's were rather than the Avons being bad. I do a lot of M'Way miles (120 a day) and I reckon I'm on for about 20k miles for the fronts. I paid £540 all in at alloywheels.com
