Non Skoda Bluetooth Kit

Hi, can anyone recommend a good non skoda bluetooth kit for my nokia n95. I was originally gonna go for the Skoda kit (from Stu) but after reading problems with the phonebook I had to decline
I'm not fussed about a cradle as I've already got one, just need something as the handsfree kit thats built into it echos badly (on the caller end)

Re: Non Skoda Bluetooth Kit

the official nokia one is ok, but you need to get an adapter for it to work with the radio.

Re: Non Skoda Bluetooth Kit

You can connect a Nokia without any additional adaptors. It'll be the same setup as I had with my SE one.

Re: Non Skoda Bluetooth Kit

I use the Parrot 3400GPS with my N95 & TomTom works a treat bar the Phonebook won't replicate. But voice dialling works.

Have a Brodit Holder and use the screen in Landscape for SatNav

Re: Non Skoda Bluetooth Kit

In my experience all Bluetooth kits suffer from connection/disconnection problems...that includes the OEM kit............so really it's up to you, do some research, and try and find the one that suits you best..........

Apparently the one in the Octavia is wonderful, but the one in the Fabia's suffering from interference

I too would agree with this however the parrot car kit in my Octy seems to have this problem but the one in my wifes Hyundai works every time, strange.

Re: Non Skoda Bluetooth Kit

I didn't have connection issues with my SE kit nor do I with the OEM. I would wager that connection problems are phone compatibilty rather than the kit not being any good.

Re: Non Skoda Bluetooth Kit

Phone compatability is fine..............connection drops at times, all is not perfect in Bluetooth land...phones only require Bluetooth functionality, drop out is mostly network related. Think on, you are trying to connect wirelessly all round............

Re: Non Skoda Bluetooth Kit

Certainly with any form of Nokia smartphone, you are best to stick to Nokia or Parrot kits for the best chance of compatibility.

Re: Non Skoda Bluetooth Kit

I've actually just ordered a Parrot CK3000 to use with my N95.

It was a choice between that or the Nokia CK-7W kit. It seems that people are having varying results with these two kits, there are lovers and haters of both. Made deciding what to get quite tricky.

I've got CK3000 Evos in both cars, and the only real downside is that you can't change the paired phone without taking the ignition key out, but more importantly, that you can't un-pair or delete voice tags; the only option is to completely reset it and start again.

I'm happy as at £52-odd delivered it's not too pricey, and I'm happy to only have about 3 contacts in my voice dial (no-one else is important enough to me that I feel the need to contact them regularly while driving) so putting them in again isn't a chore.

Thanks for the tips Gyp.

I'll only really be using it to receive calls, rather than make them, so I'll probably be in similar situation to you and only have a couple of people I'm likely to call whilst driving.

Other thoughts; when recording the activation tags, say "telephone" rather than just "phone" as it false-triggers a lot less often.

Similarly, rather than recording "hang up" for the hang-up tag, say something like "bye bye", as it sounds a lot more natural to the person at the other end who will get to hear it.

If possible, use fullnames as this makes it easier for the voice recognition; mine confuses "fat *******" (my car-sharer) with "dad" (my err dad). Overall, "telephone..... my father" would be a lot more reliable than the more natural "phone... dad"

Have fun

Re: Non Skoda Bluetooth Kit

Bit late but the SE clip on sunvisor bluetooths are great, work well with any SE phone and even better with a N95 for some reason. They do about 2 weeks between charges and the latest version has caller id on it too. Mine is a HCB 100 unsure of the model number of the newer one but at under £50 off eBay either are a bargain compared to installed units.

Edit: Just checked, the newer model is a HCB 120
