Hi all,

What's seen as the best way to put Bluetooth for a mobile phone into a Oct II VRS?

Mine is Standard + Jumbo pack.

Cheers!

Re: Oct II VRS Phone Bluetooth?

Easiest and cheapest professional option would be a Parrot or Nokia CK-20w kit.

Easy to install, and you'd be looking at £80 approx if you self installed (plenty of guides on here).

The OEM kit is excellent, but you really need maxi-dot to make it worthwhile (I believe VRStu could help you out with one these as well )

Re: Oct II VRS Phone Bluetooth?

If I were you, I'd seriously consider the OEM system. Yes, it is more expensive, but it has the distinct advantage that it's as discrete as you can get, with no vivsible signs it's in there, which is good to help prevent the light fingered having a go.

The integration with the Maxi-dot is brilliant (you can see the caller ID etc on the dash, even your phone book depending on your moby). More importantly, the sound quality is excellent, no shouting, even with the window open.

I got mine fitted with a lot of help from VRS Stu. That guy is a genius, and could teach any stealer a thing or two.

Best of luck with whatever you choose.

Another vote for the OEM Skoda kit. Its awsome. Just wish my N95 was fully compatible with it

Defo worth the extra £

Send a PM to "vrstu" to be well and truly looked after.

Re: Oct II VRS Phone Bluetooth?

I have a HTC S710 Smartphone and keep all my contacts on the phone, not the sim.

Does anyone know if this will be compatable with the maxidot bit?

I've been in contact with Stu and am deciding whether to go for the BT kit or BT kit and maxidot at the moment.

Cheers

Re: Oct II VRS Phone Bluetooth?

I'll be the proud owner of an Octy II Vrs by mid Nov (all going well) and would love a Bluetooth Kit.

I know how to work a screwdriver but I don't mind admitting that the thought of taking my new toy to bits scares the pants off me.

Live up in Aberdeenshire so can't even bribe any of you Southeners with a fist full of tenners to fit one for me

Looks like a parrot for me. Alternitive would be a sat nav box with BlueTooth. Anyone have any opinions on any of these. I'd want one with European maps.

Can't understand why Skud UK don't offer a factory fit BT Kit!!

My W880 has the contacts on the phone not the Sim. There is a compatibility list here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/ice-s...ibility/88038/

My W880 had a contacts on phone AND sim. And I saw that each name repeated twice on my maxidot phonebook because the system read names from sim and the phone. I delete all names from SIM and the problem disapper. For emergency case like broken a phone or walling to a water I saved names on phone flash card and export them to my PC

Like first person from all of you who discover the possibility of retrofitting an OEM system to an Octavia, finding a parts and making all connections , I also recommend a factory kit because the quality of a voice is a great, and can not be compare, for example, with Nokia kit. You will a have a totaly stealth installation - nobody can see an microphone or speaker and you can operate a telephone system via usual controls like right stalk and volume **** on a car stereo.

With my HTC Trinity - Copied all contacts to the sim, then set up SAP on the phone and it functions perfectly. Prior to doing this, it would pick up calls but not show the contacts in MaxiDot and would disconnect when the phone went to standby.

whats SAP mr fluff? ive got a HTC hermes and get the disconnect problem which has been temporarily fixed by turning off the standby (but the battery always runs low on long journey)

It should be under bluetooth settings in connections mate, on the bottom row of options, normally last but one from the right. It just allows a car kit to have direct access to the Sim card, then it can read your contacts etc from the sim.

Re: Oct II VRS Phone Bluetooth?

havent got that one tony, just mode | devices | com ports | security. I thought it was related to sapsettings -> remote sim access. Just reading on the xda forums as i may need to try a bluettoth stack update - Remote SIM Access Profile (rSAP) working on Orange SPV M3100!! - xda-developers

Mines an actual HTC mate, not orange, the radio upgrade is an official HTC cab from the HTC europe site.
