| Briskodian | Hello All, I was wonder if I could ask your advice. I am looking for information on the 1.9TDi Skoda engine for the 2004 plate Octavia with engine ref: ALH. Basically we need a new engine and have been looking for one through online and local sources but sadly nothing that fits our needs has turned up yet (been looking for 4 weeks). I was wondering since this models frame is shared by several other vehicles within the VW Group whether another engine from one of these manufacturers would be compatible with the Octavia 2004 model we have? I would appreciate your help and advice. Thanks Mike |

| Briskodian | Re: Octavia 1.9TDi Engine Number ALH Sorry to ask but which version is the ALH, is that a TDI 90? I think the golf is fairly similar, but I don't know if this goes down to the engine and mounting etc. I do know the passat engine probably would not be any use.

| Briskodian | Re: Octavia 1.9TDi Engine Number ALH Hi cheezemonkhai Yes it is the TDI 90. Can anyone recommend where I could also search for a second hand engine, websites or breakers yard etc? All suggestions will be eagerly investigated. Thanks for your time. Mike |

| Re: Octavia 1.9TDi Engine Number ALH I'm thinking that, as long as you can retain the Octy manifolds, sump and oil pick-up tube, you just need to match the engine code to get a suitable engine from any VAG car, even an Audi with an in-line mounted unit. |
