| Briskodian | Octavia Cat Converter/Exhaust noise Mrs has just taken her Skoda Octavia 2.0 FSI in to the local garage as the exhaust is rattling. Apparently, within seconds, the fault was diagnosed as the 'catalytic convertor not working properly'. The guy proceeded to tap the convertor and explained how that was what was rattling. Estimate for work: £400 for cat and £350 for 'rest of exhaust fittings'. The car is just over 3 years old and done approx 40,000. Do these things tend to go so quickly or does it sound like a bit of a chancer? Any advice greatly appreciated. |

| Re: Octavia Cat Converter/Exhaust noise the same happened with our seat leon. it has 85.000 km on the clock and the cat went rattling. the cat was 285 eur and work 30 eur - local garage welding
