Octavia prices

Hello Everyone,

I've been avidly reading everthing here for the last week.
Thanks for the information everyone has provided.

I placed an order for a Octavia L&K 2.0TDi manual hatch this afternoon.
Colour Blue Storm with Ivory leather interior.
Options are:-
Xenon Headlights/Curtain Airbags/ESP etc/Tyre Press Monitoring/17" Pegasus Wheels + sports suspension.

I got the local dealer down to £17500 for the car + 1860 for the options - total £19360
I found out I could maybe get another £2-300 off but that was as far as they could go. They could not discount the options I was told.

I tried various websites and found the following:-
Drivethedeal.co.uk - total £18132.50
Autoebid.com - car £15999 + options £1675 - total £17674 (this for a pre-registered car)
Autoebid.com - car £16356 + options £1675 - total £18031 (new unregistered car)
Buyacar.co.uk - car £18354 + options £1860 - total £18214
Allbrandsnew.co.uk - car £15172 + options £1860 - total £17032!

No prizes for guessing which one I went for. The catch - it's an import and the warranty is 2 years only.
I am assured the car is new and unregistered will have just a few miles on it (as is normal) and in every respect will be the same as a UK model.

The local dealer was quite surprised at the discount but as he said it would appear that the base price is less the VAT.

Now I have to wait 3 months

Alan

Re: Octavia prices

Hi Alan

Allbrandsnew are a good company, we bought my wife's scenic from them.

You might want to read the thread about Motorpoint and making sure your car is registered on the UK Skoda database so they can carry out warranty work.

Good luck with your car

Re: Octavia prices

Bought our Octavia 2.0 PD TDi L&K estate from Allbrandsnew and probably saved around £3000! No problems with the company and very good customer service. It was almost too easy! The car is an import from Malta but this has not caused any problems with insurance or warranty arrangement and you get a certificate of conformity for the UK.

Very pleased and to be recommended!

Re: Octavia prices

Hello Sanjay,

That explains how they can apparently discount the VAT.

They called Monday afternoon and said it was ordered that day and could take up to 16 weeks .

They again said it would be to UK spec.

Re: Octavia prices

I got 9% off list price on my octy II from a dealer which was cost price to them. I couldn't have saved more than a couple of hundred quid from a broker and i would have had to wait months instead of weeks , possibly had less warranty, and had to have sold my old car privately instead of the top book trade in i got.

No contest really.

Re: Octavia prices

I bought mine through buyacar. Must admit they were excellent. They offered a price about £800 less than the dealer offer, and also gave excellent part exchange values 2 other cars.
It's a UK supplied, UK Warrantied car, all I miss out on is the free servicing.

They also delivered the car in about 3 weeks.
