We have a 55 plate Elegance with the 140 bhp and DSG BOX.Happened to be talking about alarms on our cars with others and what they have. One of the things spoken about was interior sensors for movement etc and i realized that ours has none apart from the central locking.I left a window open and set the alarm and afterwards put my arm through the open window and nothing happened, so if someone broke the window they would get away with anything left in the car . I would have thought that Skoda would have auto closing of windows when locking the car and other deterant features otherwise all we have is bog standard locking. Any thought / comments on this.

I'm sure you did this but got to ask! Did you wait something like 30 seconds, maybe a minute after you set the alarm before putting your arm through the open window? Sometimes the interior sensing waits before setting.

I have the interior monitoring and auto closing of windows (if you keep your finger on the lock button on key fob). My Octy is by no means top spec.

I thought all Octys came with these features

What model do you have? oops just re read that first post, you have an Elegance. You should therefore have all of the above.

Check the B pillar for a small switch located under the upper seatbelt mounting. This is the switch for turning off interior monitoring.

The interior sensors are located where the sunglasses holder is on the roof lining. I locked myself in the car to test it when I first got the car and they didn't work. The dealer repaired it under warranty by installing what they called a new 'sonic sensor unit'. The switch on the drivers 'B' pillar disables the interior sensing if you leave kids/pets in the car.

I deadlocked my apprentice in mine and it went mad after 20 seconds or so, the alarm siren is a bit limp wristed IMO.

Also (IIRC), pressing the lock button on the fob TWICE will do the same as pressing the B pillar button, disabling the interior monitoring and deadlocks.

Also check you only press the lock button ONCE

Unlike many other marques, pressing twice DISABLES the interior sensors and deadlocks!

Thanks Guys for info .First i retried the window open and held the top locking key pressed in for a few seconds and hey presto the window came up and closed, so thats out of the way , however when it came to that switch on the pillar it showed red so i clicked it and with window open and alarm on it still failed to activate with my arm waving all around the spectacle case sensor , so i suppose i will have to take it to dealer and see whether the sensor is working or not .Will let you know results .Cheers.

Mine also wasn't working and was replaced, the replacement gave some intermittant faults with the alarm going off for no reason so it was replaced again (AFAIK theres a newer version of the unit as the garage were aware of it the minute I mentioned it).

I scanned one the other day where it said that the interior sensors were faulty, tested as above and the alarm did not go off.

Today i went back to dealer to have the interior sensor rectified but after about an hour the workshop said it could be a wiring fault and they would require it for further investigation, so it goes back tomorrow as today i have other commitments. Will let you know what happens.

Just an update regarding interior motion sensor not working. It was found that on the fault finder it had several faults which it seemed mislead the fitter but fitting another sensor has cured the problem, am happy bunny again .

The security on them must be good. The Cutns had to burgle my house whilst we were in to get the keys to my vRS in order to steal it. And my wife'sA3. Got them back though within the hour. BiB were pretty good

hi, i have somewhat the same problem, the 2004 octy ambiente estate i drive has central locking and the remote works, but when i lock or unlock the car, the indicators don't flash. the car deadlocks, and the red light in the driver's door blinks but the indicators don't flash. why is that?

I can't remember for sure, but I think that can be coded in VAGCOM. I set mine to beep when I lock it too.
