| Briskodian | Octy free spec upgrade Saw an ad in yesterday's press - for models delivered before 30 Sep: If you order an Octy saloon or estate you will recveive a free upgrade to the next spec up i.e if you order a Classic you will receive an Ambiente and if you order an Ambiente you will take delivery of an Elegance. Obviously not of much use if your heart is set on a vRS but not a bad deal in particular if you could wangle it through the likes of DTD to get this upgrade as well. |

| Re: Octy free spec upgrade Hmm, interesting!! Wonder if that means substantial money is available off a Classic? Could well be a very cheap car if so.

| Re: Octy free spec upgrade The classic spec brings the cost of the Octy in line with the budget remit it intially set out to satisfy. I have been in a classic taxi and I thought it was OK, nowhere near as nice as the Elegance, but that said it was rather a lot less money!

| Re: Octy free spec upgrade Stu, What is the situation with the free vRS upgrade deal? it was supposed to expire at the end of June but is it being carried on officially/unofficially? My vRS is being built this week and the dealer still won't divulge if it qualifies for the freebies ![]()

(ie as long as you had ordered by 30th June you get until 30th September to register - easily enough time to get any factory order) Check out this thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/new-o...support/81101/ RANGE OVERVIEW DEALS: Škoda UK - Current Å*koda Octavia offers

| Re: Octy free spec upgrade Cheers for that. Regarding the dates on your sig, did the dealer provide them all at key points in the time line? Despite ordering the vRS and putting a £500 deposit down on May 17th I have still not been told anything and it's SUPPOSED to be built this week. And to top it all, the lease company has "lost" my L&K ![]()

| Re: Octy free spec upgrade Yes. It does help I have dealt with the Sales Manager throughout the process (and it is in their interest to chase me to sign up/register before end of June to get their bonuses) 7th May - Ordered (deposit placed) 17th May - Build dates (week 24) confirmed 15th June - Advised built 11th June (actually 13th June 2007 according to VIN decoder - but maybe build start/finish) and left factory 14th June 25th June - Advised at port of entry. offered 8 registration numbers to choose from 26th June - Requested me to get Skoda 7 day cover to tax/register before end of June (for quaterly figures). Requested to sign off "confirmation of registration" 28th June - Advised assigned reg on dealership system on 27th June. advised port of entry was Grimsby and the floods had delayed transporters in the region and there was a back log. hence handover would be July. Advised no known audio issues (Stream MP3) - 2nd July - Advised vehicle taxed and registered as new vehicle with DVLA (12months + 1 week tax) on 30th June. Advised transportation fax received with dealership ETA 3rd July 3rd July - Sales Manager away so no update today. 4th July - confim my car is there and is being prep'd (PDI+Eibachs)? 5th July - Handover? Sorry to hear about your Laurin&Klement

So brand new not pre-registered and no delivery mileage. And when I tried to get a similar second hand... I was quoted a non-shifting figure of £18k

| Re: Octy free spec upgrade My dealer supplied vRS PD170 Combi in the same spec was £16,995 + £300 for paint (£17,295) aswell. Plus still gets 5.1% fins and FREE SERVICING (but then I went mad and spent another £3,600 RRP on the basis that they would give me a discount on the extras of 13% - whoops!)

| Briskodian | Re: Octy free spec upgrade It would seem this deal has permeated through to the brokers as well with DTD offering a tasty £3k off a 2.0 Elegance Diesel Estate. Very very tempting. |

| Re: Octy free spec upgrade I just paid £16600 from a Skoda dealer for my VRS (delivered last Friday) and it was a 2008 model with added rear parking sensors. Also got the deal on the finance and free bits (18" wheels etc). I ordered mid June and got the car on 6/7/07. Fair enough its not the estate but still a good deal direct from the dealership IMHO. He told me that the deals are there if you push hard enough. Also he told me that a number of dealers ordered the Octavia Classic models before they were told about the free upgrades so anyone who wanted a classic could get one well cheap I reckon.

Hi , I have just ordered my vRS on Sat just gone. The deal was for 5.2 % APR .And the equipment upgrade was on offer. I felt the spec was OK for me, so asked for a £900 reduction in price. And it was agreed. Skoda Dealer in Cheshire Mitchells. So get on to your dealer and tell him to do the Business for you ! Regards, Bob the dog (newbie) | |
