| Octy retro fits / mods After toying with the idea of buying a vrs Octy and even spent some time thinking about another Furby vrs ive finally decided to keep my Octy Sport. I recentley managed to reverse into a wall and damage the rear bumper and after being quoted £600 to repair I thought I would chance my luck on E-Bay. I couldnt belive my eyes when I saw a vrs bumper finished in met black magic going for £80.00. So I flew of to Birmingham last night to pick it up. The bumper is in excellent condition but it has the holes drilled in it for parking sensors, so I thought I will have them fitted anyway to stop any future mishaps. Then I thought may as well go the whole hog and have cruise control fitted as well. Phoned the dealer today and was told parking sensors will be £375.00 inc the fitting of the vrs bumper but they dont think cruise control can be fitted to my car so they are going to contact Skoda UK I thought retro fitting of cruise was a formality on the Octy 2 now plus I thought £375 for parking sensors was a little steep????What do you think? Anyone had any of the above fitted? How much did you pay? |

| Re: Octy retro fits / mods Well the dealers just phoned me up and in the words of Janice (sorry Friends fan) O - MY - GOD - Another £375.00 for cruise control. I was thinking more like £150 - £200 or am I thinking MK1 Octy prices? May have to live without the cruise for a minute ![]() |

| Re: Octy retro fits / mods Have a word with VRStu about cruise, he may well be your man for this Edit: btw, I believe the bumper construction is different on a Sport as it has an addition skin IIRC. Have you checked to make sure the new one you have is compatiable?.

| Re: Octy retro fits / mods Cruise should be easy, its just a new stalk and loom plus telling the ecu you have cruise control. Parking sensors, you could buy the kit and do it yourself as the holes are already there.

| Re: Octy retro fits / mods Did the dealers tell you that a new steering column controller was required? That would be the only reason for it to be that expensive. What year is your Octy Sport? Do you have access to VAG-COM? There is no loom required for Octy II although older cars will require the addition of a single wire, most have it from the factory. It is however a bit of an art to fitting it on the Octy II as the Steering Controller has to come off. I have done a fair few now so I can help out if you are stuck. Edit - Octy II Parking Sensors are BEA 609 001

| Re: Octy retro fits / mods Personally I'd take a trip to chateau Stu and have the lot fitted for considerably less. |
