Octy Sport?? or Diesel Vrs?

There's been a few articles around about the Octy Sport but as yet I haven't found any info on it....

The Fabia Sport (not much better than my wife's silverline) has been on the Skoda website but no sign of the Octy.. Anyone got any ideas on the spec or if they are planning to release the new shape Vrs in a diesel version?

Pretty sure the new Octy sport is available with the PD 140 engine.

Should be quite a car and with a remap wouldn't be far off from the vRS for performance.

That's what the wife wants to hear. She's keen to ditch the Silverline for something with more grunt but more like a family car. She was seriously unimpressed by the 105bhp tdi and keeping her fingers crossed for something along the lines of the Vrs but diesel - I'm guessing they'll prol do the Octy Sport instead of the Vrs diesel.

If you spot anything online about it let us know!

The spec can be found here.

Prices have been posted in another thread somewhere as well.

Lozparry, any idea when that is likely to be? She'd rather hold out for the diesel Vrs... having had another look at the Sport she's decided it's a waste of time and may as well opt for an Elegance with extras. But she'd drop everything if there was a chance there'd be the 170bhp vrs diesel

Not a clue! As with all the other rumours around about the VRS's until you see it on paper ie brochure or for real it might not happen, besides I can't even get my elegance yet, not been built because of diesel engine shortages!! and i hoped to have had in March.

No doubt the next vRS will be a diesel... or at least have a diesel option

If you want a proper sport hatch, then wait for the next Octavia II vRS version. If it is anything like the last one it'll be a storming car, with the best compromise on ride and handling. On another note the 140 diesel is nice but it's no vRS equivalent.

Did you see what prompted the revival of the GTD badge : -
" Judging by the success of the diesel Skoda Fabia vRS, this could extend the Golf's appeal to cost-conscious buyers. "

Looks like it was another Risk payoff for VAG.

Europe has had a GTD version of the Golf for quite a few years, its just VAG UK refusing to bring it in and keeping the GT versions petrol only.
