OCTY Vrs II - Engine no location

Where is the engine no located??, had a look but cant see it anywhere. Do you have to remove engine cover?, if so how?, info needed as registration cert came back with engine no unknown, and I cant find it on the other documentation. The car is a Motorpoint import. Cheers

Re: OCTY Vrs II - Engine no location

It should be on the timing belt cover, also might be on the joint between engine and gearbox.

May even be on your big white sticker in the boot/service manual.

It will begin BWA (if it's petrol) or BMN (if it's diesel) and six numbers being a total of nine characters.

Removal of the engine cover depends on petrol or diesel.
