Project K04

Just driven back from our friends at JKM Performance with the K04 and associated mods done to my car.
Three little words come to mind......
OH MY GOD
Its hard to put into words the transformation that has occurred to the engine, it just wants to keep pulling passed the 7000rpm.
Horsepower is v high at the moment will let all know and post RR print out after REVO have fine tuned the map.

Mate its ace, no BS its more driveable than vRS with Revo Stg 1.
It feels as thou it wants to rev to 9k rpm,it hits 7k still pulling like a crazy pulling thing, there could be a danger of breaking the rev counter, power delivery sensational

Re: Project K04

Feck me you must have spent the equivalent of the reserves of a small country!!!

Soo many questions................
how long did it take to do?
did Keith/Jim test drive it and what was the reactions?
see you have the big brakes too, first impressions?
did you RR it, what do you/they think it's putting out now, bhp/lbs/ft?

Get yourself a CG Lock, that will help you stay in your seat

Re: Project K04

Jim/Keith had it all week, hours wise dont think it was to demanding.
Brakes: nearly went throu the screen when i got to the top of their road, after which the seat belt went on.
RR : 305bhp 290 lbs but Keith's words were that there is more to come, Revo need motor to finish the map, Beta version at the moment.
They had a drive in it, both very impressed

That's mighty impressive but I would have expected more torque if Revo stage 1 alone gives circa 270 - 290 lbs?

Its only a beta version code, Revo need car for a day to do whatever they do to finalise code. The torque band has considerably increased in length compared to Revo stg 1, Stg 1 tails off at approx 3500, K04 starts tailing off at 5700

Revo settings : Boost 7, Timing 7, Fuel 5.
Advised to leave as is till Revo get hands on it.

Re: Project K04

which K04 kit is this? Is it the KMD one? Also how much has this cost you to do?

What would it cost roughly to go from a stage 2 car to the level that yours is at?

Already had turboback milltek and KMD pump fitted, story is that i couldnt be assed to wait for the general release of the 2+ Revo code, so asked Keith to get the bits in for the K04. Injectors, intercooler, VF intake and all bits required for conversion, bearly in mind the DV is also relocated to the front.
Cost wise i got to sit down and work it out cause parts were bought and fitted at different times.

Interesting. Keep us informed on the outcome when the final release of the code is installed

Re: Project K04

Revo quote 300bhp/310lbft for an Edition 30 Golf, so considering above and Ed30 Sibarts car has uprated fuel pump and injectors and a bigger intercooler, and exhaust... I'd be hoping for atleast 320bhp/330lbft.
