| Just seen that there is a dealer selling the following- New Octavia TDI VRS in metallic silver, dual climate, elec rear windows, central armrest, 18"s, 3 years servicing and it's the 07 model year for £16949! I think that is an incredible price, but do you think it says much for future residuals. I wouldn't have thought such huge discounts would be needed on the diesel? ![]() |

| It seems a good price but to put it in context I only paid 17k for my VRs (petrol) new with the same options. Incidentally at the same time the sales manager couldn't sell me a demo VRs with 3k on it for less than £17,800 - it depends on how much the cars owe them...

| Thanks for that Jonno. I didn't think that with such a highly recommended machine on their hands, discounts would be such commonplace! I suppose that the Focus ST probably had an effect on that, but it makes the Golf GTI look ridiculous value ![]() |
