| can someone help me on this one , the service digit has just lit up on the lcd odometer ( the spanner ) well i am hoping it is just a service due indicator digit ???? but heres the thing ; the car is a 1.9 tdi with dsg with only 17500 KMs on the display is this the right time for a service ? what kind of service is it due ? also the new style soft touch or feel to the top of the door panel on the drivers side seems to be kind of sinking in spots, is this common ? perhaps due to water ingress ? as you can imagine i hardly feel its down to excessive wear with just that amount of KMs and not being a year old yet ?????????? |

| Check with your dealer - my Sport flashed up it needed serviced when I'd only done 5000 miles - the first service isn't due on that model til 10000 / 1 year. It may just be a fault, but the dealer won't mind you enquiring!

| my 1.9 TDI in an octy MK I with a manual box goes about 25'000 miles between services based on the last services.I would suggest that your mileage might be low, but you will have to check what the service interval is set to (either a dealer or vag-com). Are you on fixed or variable, for fixed 10k miles that sounds about right.
