Servicing costs

Hi,

I don't own a Skoda anymore as I own a Golf TDi these days.

My car is on the long life regime and due it's second service (33,000) or 2 year.

VW servicing costs are astronomical considering what they are actually doing, oil, filter, filter and pollen filter plus some bobbins about a health check for a grand total or £290!

What's the general cost for the same on the Skoda considering they are basically the same vehicle?

Thanks

Re: Servicing costs

the servicing costs on my Golf (Mk IV) are about the same as the Fabia when I had it. That is at Awesome though and not main dealers

Not suprising since the labour rate is a lot higher. Dont be afraid to barter though we do lower labour rates to compete with specialists you have to ask though.

Oooh Ross , now come on play fair

I must admit though , I have seen that VW dealers are saying that they will price match specialists now , but they want the quote in writing

But makes for good healthy competition

Re: Servicing costs

Don't know how or if this compares, but my specialist dealer just charged £101 for my third annual service, fixed mileage, just inside end of warranty period. Elegance 2.0 petrol car.

Re: Servicing costs

I recently took my car to a local audi vw specialist. Dealer wanted £275 for 2nd long life service specialist was £260. Not much in it so I went to the specialist. What they failed to tell me was that the brake fluid change was not included in the £260 and the dealer had included it. In the end to save myself £15 Ive ended up spending £350 which did include £30 for new wipers but still expensive. So I will deffo be going back to my dealer

Re: Servicing costs

Obviously not a specialist who cares! Mine was where I bought the car - they have always been very fair and I'd get my next one there.
