Exclamation should i worry!!!!

hi to evey one who reads this

i just can not wait to pick my vrs up on the 8th of feb. but my only worry is the tyres. i seem to see alot of people say that the tyres that come with the car as standerd are not
very good. and you should change them is that true?? or is it they are just driving around with the wrong tyre pressure. any help in this matter will be great.

Re: should i worry!!!!

Best check pressures when you get it, and sure at least wear them out before deciding to change

Re: should i worry!!!!

Check the tyre pressures as it has been known for cars to be delivered with much higher than recomended pressures.

As for the make, there have been issues with Conti Sport Contact 2's and later with Dunlops but nothing serious enough to warrant changing them immediately. My advice would be to run with them for a while and see how you get on with them and if you experience any issues report back here as there are many threads recomending different tyres

Re: should i worry!!!!

Don't worry about it, at the end of the day they will be a recognised brand of tyre so they will be OK at least.

Check the tyre pressures when you get it and see how the car handles on the factory fit tyres.

I don't think you have much to worry about TBH. Just look forward to collecting your vRS and enjoy driving it

Lucky boy, the tyres should have the correct speed rating so that won't be a problem when pushing the car's capabilities. Don't forget the brakes and tyres will need time to bed in properly

Re: should i worry!!!!

i hope this is not a stupid thing to ask but how would you notice if the tyres were over pressurised when driving??

Re: should i worry!!!!

I wouldn't wait to discover the car's characteristics at speed with the tyres potentially over pressurised, get the tyre pressures checked as soon as poss, especially if it will be going on the fun side of 130mph

The tyre pressure data should be on the inside of the fuel filler flap, better to be a psi or two over the stated pressure than under.

Yep general advice for sustained high speed runs (over 100mph) is to put a fair few PSI more in the tyres. Hopefully your handbook/filler cap should have more info.

If you are really concerned about the tyres, send them to me and I will check pressures and run them in gently for 10 / 12k miles and once I'm happy they're safe for you I'll send them back. I work as a self-appointed self-regulated tyre test specialist and keep a special set of 16-inch Fabia wheels just for situations like this, in my potential customers' interest.

Joking aside, they'll be fine. Best of luck with your new purchase, happy motoring
