Simple Note Holder question!

Hi,

Got a simple question regarding the note holder.

It is glued between the pillar and windscreen in any way?

I want to move mine up because it's in the way of the sat nav mount, but I didn't want to go pulling in just in case...

My guess is that it's just wedged in there!

Re: Simple Note Holder question!

If it's like the one in my Fabia, it's actually bonded between the windscreen and the A pillar AFAIK...

Drat!!!

I assume windscreen removal is required to get the screw out?

nope its dead easy. just pull off the A pillar trim (care needed and its more involved if you have curtain airbags) and you can get to the screw with a small phillips.

Re: Simple Note Holder question!

Ahh - ticket holder - that's why my search didn't find much!

Right ok - so I can just make a small hole in the a pillar to help the self-tapping screw along! Nice job!

Thanks all - just proves I should ask experts before attempting to just yank it out!

Re: Simple Note Holder question!

It's far easier to remove the trim than guess just where to drill a hole. I've taken it myself and it unclips.

I think he means drilling a hole so he can relocate it.

Re: Simple Note Holder question!

Thanks for the advice! I've just pulled off the trim and unscrewed the ticket holder - as suspected - it's now in three parts.

Phone Skoda to order a replacement - but no call back yet. In the mean time, I've stuck it back together with some tape and mounted it in a position near the top of the windscreen.

Unfortunately the gap between where the plastic should now screw in is a few mm out - so for the moment I've bodged it in with a rolled up bit of tape which serves the purpose of gilling the gap and sticking it the pillar. I've also used a bit more tape to keep it on the pillar.

Actually - although it looks like a real botch it's done the job of making the ticket holder a more secure against the window; moved the ticket holder out the way so I can place my satnav mount correctly and also allows me to run the TMC cable up the pillar.

Nice job!
