to the problem of sucker marks on your windscreen possibly.

I found this two-part bracket system for mounting your satnav/PDA/mobile in your car.

ProClip Mounting System *-*Choose Your Country

Its obviously not perfect because it will be evident that something must go on it and that something is probably a portable satnav which might be in the car ("so let's break the window and have a look..." T. Leaf)

On the other hand it is a rather elegant solution. There's more about it on the TomTom website.

Anyone had any experience of the system?

Re: a solution?

I have 2 proclips in my octavia, one holds the mount for my PDA based tomtom, and the other holds the car mount for my company car kit. They are really neat and look almost oem, and no holes to drill. I have the centre console mount (by handbrake), and also one that mounts beside the stereo.

Re: a solution?

got the jumbo box on mine and using a bar towel(remember those) between the seats in front of it rest the sat nav on it to prevent it slipping. Works a treat even down there. Don't look at the maps for obvious reasons just listen to the voice commands. No holders no suction marks and something to mop up spills to boot.

Re: a solution?

Like Manny, I've got two mounted in mine, by the centre vent. One for my phone and one for my iPod. They're fairly discrete since they are the same colour as the dash, good value and non destructive to the car.
Find out more from the manufacturer's main site at Brodit.se.

Re: a solution?

Thanks all.
I was particularly interested to hear that its non-damaging to the car. I assume therefore there'd be none when you take it out at the end of the 3 yr lease!
Quite expensive though, aren't they? I suppose one's paying for the idea.
I'll get one in Jan (they might be on offer!). I wonder whether hard wiring the connection is a thought?

Re: a solution?

I`ll recommend the ProClip solution. I use it for my PDA TomTom navigation.
When I bought my Octavia 2.0 Tdi Estate Elegance, I asked the dealer to fit in the no-holes/vent-solution mentioned in the extra options list, and guess what he did

When I picked up my new car, he had the Proclip mounted for me. Not sure if the Proclip was actually cheaper than buying over the Internet, but a nice surprise for me.

My advice: Ask your dealer what solution is in the Skoda extra options list, and compare prices.
