| Squeaking Front Window This is really starting to bug me now . First went in for 'the fix' a couple of months back (the fix being re-lubing the runners) but after a couple of weeks it came back again. Had it re-done during a service (at a different dealership) and sure enough the same thing happened again so this time a new regulator was ordered and fitted under warranty today and guess what .................................. it started squealing again when I got home!! This is really pi55ing me off now, anyone got any suggestions?

| Briskodian | Re: Squeaking Front Window Argh, this drives me crazy as well. I narrowed it down to the brush at the base of the glass, the thing keeping moisture from going inside the door. I have yet to find something that will lube that and not smear the window.

| Briskodian | Re: Squeaking Front Window Steve are your window seals furry or plain rubber? If they are not the rubber ones with the furry top get these fitted. FWIW if you are out of warrenty I might be able to keep hold of my set which are due for replacement so you can have a FOC try. Also if you are doing silicon, try using the grease as per the cage mod rather than the spray as this lasts a lot longer. HTH EDIT: Ignore that I know you're under warrenty ![]()

| Briskodian | Re: Squeaking Front Window I had a go at it today. With the window completely lowered I kept the rubber/furry seal at the base of the window pulled back a bit and lifted the window with the key fob button. When the window was completely up i noticed there was a lot of dirt on the bottom of the glass that's always below the seal, so I cleaned them with wet tissues on a plastic card. I then noticed there were two white plastic pieces that held the glass from underneath, so I flooded those with my trusty old WD40. There were two coresponding white pieces on the inside face of the glass (visible with window down) which I didn't lube because I don't want WD40 smeared on the inside + the smell of it. The result is it's not that noisy anymore, but not completely gone for now. I suspect it will get better as the WD40 has time to penetrate the mumified crap in there.

| Briskodian | Re: Squeaking Front Window Update: it worked so well the next morning that I didn't bother to lube them again. Seems its cured for the moment.
