I have noticed occassionly when I return to the car that the rear window has misted up. Has anyone else noticed this? I had a similar problem in a Laguna once and found that I had a leak in the door seal causing the carpet to get damp so I can only think some damp may be getting it somehow? On that occasion all the windows misted up but this is only the rear window.

Yep, mine fogs up, windscreen too.

Not massively impressed on that front, rear heated screen takes an age to clear the problem too !!

I found that demisting was speeded up no end by cleaning the inside of the rear window - taking care not to damage the wires, of course.

Just fixed a similar problem on my Vectra. the nut had come loose on the rubber seal where the wiper arm goes through, letting water in then steaming up. Rubber had degraded a bit too.
Bought new seal for about £3 and nipped it up. Maybe worth a look?

I too am suffering from this problem, it does however clear very quickly with the heated rear window and A/C on.

I thought it may have been linked to the problem I'd had with the aircon condensate drain when the car was new, but it sounds like it may be an Octavia issue.

what is it best to clean the rear/interiors window with? I tried holts interior wipes but they seemed to leave smears where I had swiped

I find both front and rear seem to mist up on wet days

Just use whatever you do the other windows with. I'm nearly finished some TurtleWax Clear View (or similar name) and that's been fine. Or use whatever you do the house windows with.

Spray on and apply with kitchen towel, then remove with a dry piece. Job done

I've got those and they are useless.

Re: rear windscreen, I seem to get a dribble [shaddup!]. It starts sometimes right at the top, in the middle, but also sometimes starts half way down, and runs down to the bottom edge. I only notice it after it has dried and looks like a dirty mark on the outside. But it is on the inside. I just put it down to condensation.

Rain X Anti Fog (or similar) is an effective product.

Household glass cleaners sometimes utilise silicones in them to help the glass shine. May in some cases cause smearing. The Astonish brand, though is particularly good at £1.99.

Occasional polish with domestic window clean such as Windoleen help prevent misting up.

Would using IPA soaked wipes be okay to use on rear window ? Great for a clean finish on the front ones.

I would check your footwells for water as mine had a similar problem that turned out to be a door panel not sealing properly and allowing water to run in over the plastic trim and into the footwell. This is a known fault and the fix is to use a sealant.
