| Hi All, Could any of you out there with a Octy II 4x4 estate check your tyres and tell me if your back tyres are wearing faster than your fronts. Noticed this n the cars off to the dealers on monday so want to give em some grief if no one else is experiencing it. I am not taliking a little but after 10k's worth of motoring the rears have approx 3mm of tread b4 the wear bars but the fronts have around 6mm! Wasnt aware that the bias was towards the rear thought it was meant to be the other way round. Oh n totally off the subject but 2.0tdi for 2007 and mp3 jack in jumbo box, 2 things I really wanted this car to have, Cheers Skoda ya B*^£?@ds!!! ![]() |

| Yeah Fronts are at matching levels and so are the rears, just a lot lower, seem to be getting a lot lower MPG too in my car (Ave 40.5 mpg) compaired to other members on here which I put down to living in the Pennines but starting to wonder if I have an issue somewhere with the transmission/4x4 gubbins (the gearbox is mainly why the car is going into the dealers on mon) so will report it. | Not noticed much difference in wear on my 4x4 - done approx 8000 miles. What's wrong with the gearbox?

| Syncro is a bit hit n miss on 1st n difficult to engage at times also strange vibration in 3rd when coasting along in slow moving traffic around 1300-1700 rpm (doesnt happen in any other gear). The dealer changed the oil to the same as the vRS's box at 5000 miles at Skodas request telling them they wouldnt exchange it till the car had done 10,000 miles, whilst this improved it its not cured the problem so its now off back in. |

| If it helps, the tyres on my remapped (old) Octavia 4X4 Estate are wearing evenly all round and are down to 4mm at 17,000 miles. What are the recommended tyre pressures for your car at half and full load and what do you actually use? I use the half load figures +2 psi most of the time

| Thanks guys, my car is back with me awaiting parts, still havent got to the bottom of the tyre wear as I picked it back up after the service dept was shut so will find out more when it goes back in. BTW Skoda have a new oil for the box that is supposed to sort out the difficulties with it and the vibration is down to a drive shaft on the front that has a balancer on it that obviously doesnt. Will keep you posted |
