| Briskodian | Re: Stream radio - manufacturer Visteon is a spin off from FORD! A number of Fords manufacturing sites were re-branded a Visteon, so that they could sell to other car manufacturers. I have been to a number of Visteon sites, however, they were making parts for drivetrain (brake discs, diff's) or engine components (camshafts, crankshafts). Most of what they were making seemed to be going in 'Ford group' products.

| Re: Stream radio - manufacturer Visteon. Made in Portugal. Owned by Ford apparently. Rumours that the problems with the Stream were not 'unintentional' so to speak. Thats what i hear

Any chance of finding out if theres a steering wheel control available for the stream (or another brand which might work with it), the mulitfunction steering wheel ain't available with the RS wheel.

| Re: Stream radio - manufacturer That's the trouble with the Audience and stream radios. They are nicely integrated into the car electronics but because they are trying to do so much you do get the odd glitch on occasion. It doesn't happen often but sometimes my reversing graphic stays on the screen after going out of reverse and once the radio didn't come on immediately with the ignition initially. If you add a handsfree phone and use the mute connection whilst displaying the radio info on the maxidot, when you turn on the ignition it kicks the maxidot back out into the main menu. Again only occassionally. Otherwise it does a grand job and they are better than the average OEM radios for sound quality and functionality.

Forgot about that, it was just an idea (I thought it might go straight into back of radio)! I reakon we'll be waiting a while for an aftermarket one.

| Re: Stream radio - manufacturer Gaff, One other thing, the steering wheel radio buttons can't change sources eg from tuner to cd to changer etc so it kind of defeats the purpose TBH.

I thought if the manufacturers of the radios are supplying a couple of car manufacturers then a aftermarket control might be possible. Although a lot of the car manufacturers have steering wheel controls so it might not be a big seller. It would be interesting to know what Jat's contact might be able to find out about the subject.
