We finally got some cold weather and some snow, and our brand new Octy II Combi arrived on Jan 2. To our neighbours' "amusement", the interior heater now sets of the alarm. The heater runs for two "entertaining" hours... And its near impossible to remember to disable the internal monitor every time you park.

Any suggestions on how low the sensitivity must be set to avoid the alarm going off when using an interior heater? I have a 1700W electrical heater, which does put out quite a lot of heat.

I'd like to lower sensitivity on mine as well but haven't found the way yet.

According to many sources, this can be done with a VAG-COM or simply by bringing the car in for service. In my case, they'd better agree to put it on warranty. But to make sure I get a reasonable setting, I'd like to have some hint as to what the setting should be....

im looking for away to disable current monitoring via the ulrasonics disable button if poss. couldnt run the cigarette socket plug in heater the other morning, my poor neighbours had an early morning awakening more than a few times.

I did reduce the sensitivity with vagcom to half. But that brought nothing. Finally I got new sensor on warranty. Old sensors are too sensitive. With the new one, no more false alarms. I noticed that the part number did not change, only the software version.

How brilliant. I have a MY2008 car, so hopefully I have the new sensors. However, if the part number is the same, there is no way to tell.

Mine started giving false alarms and know of another one with the same problem. I had a Motion Control unit changed and its now okay. Skoda seem to be aware of an issue with the old one.

It is possible to tell... by checking the software version (also vagcom). AFAIR version SW5002 is first one that is ok.

And yes, Skoda knows about units, and they change them on warranty (unit or just software, that I do not know).

Its a pity they wouldn't tell the dealers then, as one of the lads was asking me about it as the dealer wasn't aware of it. I think theres a different level of info passed through the UK than there is in Eire.
