Question Sunsafeglass

Hi,

The Sunsafeglass is now available as an option here in Belgium on the Octavia, but I cannot get a lot info about it...

Maybe somebody can help

I would like to know if those glasses are darker the the normal ones. I will order a new car next week and if the Sunsafeglass are quite dark I will take the option combined with the Black Magic colour

Thanks in advance

Luc

Re: Sunsafeglass

If there's one thing which marks drivers out as pretentious ****s, it's dark glass tinting - and it's unsafe. Think again, Luc!

Re: Sunsafeglass

Cheers John, ive got tints on the rear windows of my car. Its there to keep the sun off my 16 month old grandson who spends a lot of time in the back.

But most of all I feel like a proper drug dealer when driving on my own

Re: Sunsafeglass

Probably won't be an option in the UK as there are laws regarding the amount of tinting on the frint side windows. Only the B pillar and back can be a very dark tint.

Re: Sunsafeglass

Thanks for the answers... But that don't let me know if the Sunsafeglasses are darker than the normal.

Nobody ha the option on his Octavia ?

John, I agree with you. I do not want "black" windows but I think that darker rear windows on a black Octavia will be nicer

That's a little bit harsh don't you think? I've got window tint all over my car because of the climate of this country I'm in, does that make a pretentious ****? Uncalled for man.

You have to remember that safeglass tinted windows are tinted so light and UV rays are relected off and don't penetrate as much, upto 80%, but this doesn't necessarily mean that it disrupts your vision outside. If you buy cheap dark tints that prove hazardous at night, then I agree, but otherwise you shouldn't be so harsh man.

Ldu, I believe these tints, like I already said, will most probably be dark, but that's from the outside. If they proved hazardous to your vision from the inside, especially at night, I don't see how authorities would allow them to be manufactured.

Is this a factory option or have you had fitted by someone else?. Interested as I'm looking at a Black vRS at the moment.

Re: Sunsafeglass

I had the Pentagon http://tinyurl.com/7m8vf tinted safety glass fitted to my old Accord again to keep the sun off my new born at the time and as importantly to stop some scummy **** putting a brick through the windows trying to rob my radio etc.

Must admit though that having the back window blacked out meant I could see the square route of F' all out of the back when reversing at night in a dark area, so had reversing sensors fitted as well.

Privacy glass is factory fit and IIRC around £175 if you spec it.
