Suspect: DMF 1.9 TDI

Clutch has been a little rattly for a couple of days now and had meant to call the dealer to book it in. Hadn't got round to it...anyway on the way home last night stuff got really rattly and noisy such that I called them and was advised to not drive the car any further.

So the car is with the dealer now / on it's way and a hire car should be arriving in the next hour or so.

I'll update as and when but it's still under warranty.

I guess I've just made the chance of the DMF failing in a 1.9 statistically less likely to be a rare occurrence :-)

Ross.

Don't know about the rattly bit - I though vibration under harsh acceleration was the symptom of DMF failure?

Re: Suspect: DMF 1.9 TDI

phone diagnosis from dealer was dmf - sounded much like screws in a washing machine on a slow spin cycle...
