Switched 12v supply in Octy II?

I'm fitting a hands free car kit in my Octy II and need a ground , permanent 12v and switched 12v.

The first two are simple enough - the light for the glovebox has these - but the latter is not so simple. The cigarette lighter has a 12v feed but I can't get at it.

Is there anywhere handy near the glovebox?

You may need to run a wire over to the fuse box, I think the fuses down the left hand side are 12v switched (terminal 15).

Fusebox fuse nr 9 and the next ones in the same row are 12v switched.

Climatronic, right connector grey/black lead.

I'm sure I crimped on the connectors for the Fuse Box Alex.

There ought to be one marked phone which is switched.

You could run a wire from the climate controls power too if fitted, thats a switched connection iirc.

Re: Switched 12v supply in Octy II?

I've just fitted a CK3100 Parrot kit into mine a few days ago, I too found this problem right at the end just before it got dark, half an hour later after realizing that there simply is NO 12v Switched I had to run it to the fuse box.
Just a word of advice, if you are using the kit through the car audio speakers - hiding the cables etc behind the head unit isn't that easy - there is very limited space behind there expecially when you are using the ISO/Mute ext' blocks!

Alex doesn't have any ISO/Mute leads.

A tip if you are struggling with the rear cabling is to lift out the top stowage and you then have access to guide the cabling into place.

I did think about that but thought it looked a little tight with the air vents.
Oh well....

Re: Switched 12v supply in Octy II?

I got my switched live from the climate panel when fitting my parrott 3200. As for the wiring, i managed to stow it all behind the ashtray towards the bulkhead.

Re: Switched 12v supply in Octy II?

Hi there,

I just gave up trying to cramp a Iso2car mute cable + IGNI Box (which creates a 12v switched without wiring to the fuse box). There simply is no room left behind my STREAM radio.

Is the answer to stowe it away behind the ashtray ?
