| TFSI VRS Mods Right, starting to think about a few mods for the VRS in a few months time, just wondered what the best things are to start with before I get a remap. I know with the Fabia VRS the brake upgrade, suspension mods and in some cases clutch are recommended before getting a remap, so what's the score with the Octy? Would you recommend a CAI and Forge Type BOV (anything else?) before a remap? Take it standard brakes and clutch are up to the job? Also with the TFSI (if driven in a normal manner i.e. steady 70-80mph on a motorway run) does a remap result in better mpg as with a TDI remap?

| Re: TFSI VRS Mods With the Octy its not so important to do mods before a map - there aren't many (if any?) companies doing custom maps for the TFSI. Upgrading the suspension would be wise - JKM have an unbeatable offer on at the moment with FSDs and Eibachs... get yourself on the list! ![]()

| Re: TFSI VRS Mods ^ You should become a rep for Koni! As for mods...a good intake system (EVOMS is the preferred intake on the site) will be beneficial to you with a stage 1 map. You can leave the brakes and suspension well alone, they're fine and can easily cope with the extra power. As a precaution you might like to add the Forge DV to your wishlist for the sake of reliability as the OEM valve is prone to failure. After that I would recommend the Autotech fuel pump as no doubt after being mapped you will experience a fuel cut, this stops that. With those mods in place you're set for going for more power with stage 2 and the appropriate modifcations.

| Re: TFSI VRS Mods Depending on your budget I'd personally go straight for a remap closely followed by a Forge DV and Neuspeed Torque Arm Insert. From there on I'd deffinately recomend the FSD & Eibach suspension setup, without doubt the best value mod asside from the initial remap.

| Re: TFSI VRS Mods God now your confuseing me guys Already got a Pipercross Filter (Do you not need a filter in there even with an intake?)... Not too bothered about the suspension (find it fine for now), so what just the DV and then a remap? Edit: Budget would be £250 in a month or so's time and then £5-600 a few months after that (i.e. remap)

| Re: TFSI VRS Mods If you have an intake it replaces the stock engine cover. DV is about £150 IIRC. Remap - well that depends on who you use.

| Re: TFSI VRS Mods Not a performance enhancing mod, but I really like the Neuspeed Shortshifter Not cheap and also make sure you get the right one as there are two to chose from depending on year of manufacture.

| Re: TFSI VRS Mods Yeah I've done a couple. Can be done 'on the drive'. Jack up and remove the bolt, pretty tight though. Give the existing bush a good clean and a squirt of silicon lube. I used a hyde mallet to push the bush in.

| Re: TFSI VRS Mods Ah, excellent. Cheers And you said you did it up on the jack as opposed to on ramps? Which side is it on? i.e. which side needs to be jacked up?

| Re: TFSI VRS Mods I tend to put the car on axle stands. Ramps are ideal. It's in the middle.

Better to be safe than sorry. I got my stands from screwfix but they don't seem to list them any more. These are the same - Clarke - CAX 3TBC 3 Ton Axle Stands - Axle Stands & Car Ramps - Machine Mart The head shape is ideal for the front of Skoda's.
