| vRS Ads................Lots of them! Seems Skoda is pulling out all the plugs! Inside cover of Autocar today, and i seen plenty else where as well. The upshot is that Skoda ARE seeing that £20 K for a vRS is not going to happen! They talk about £18.5K ish, but come on lads get real, This car full loaded is worth £17K!, plus free bees! I can wait ![]() Mike |

Don't understand - they haven't changed the price, just added a couple of options "worth" £900 and offered lowish finance (which is across the range not just vRS) and servicing. As someone else mentioned in another thread, they may be just realigning options (or preparing for (MY08 ) - come on its a bit of a cheek to ask for the best part of £20k for an Octavia vRS and rear electric windows are optional - not exactly giving stuff away by "upgrading" the spec! You can borrow money from Bank of Scotland for 6.0% so its not that subsidised, and the three year servicing/30k is worth at most about £250-£300 (as two of the services will be lube only) Still think it is a bargain - can't even get a Golf Estate with PD170 engine (PD140 Sport starts at £18,637)

| Re: vRS Ads................Lots of them! If you shop around hard enough you can already get a basic Octy vRS Tdi Estate for a shade over £17k. So my guess I'd a petrol hatch from a shade over £16k. Don't know what all the fuss is about.

).Anyway, a 5 door Golf GTi with no options was circa £21k last time I looked so I think £17k with no options for a VRs is good value. With some decent options, £18.5k would be about right.

| Re: vRS Ads................Lots of them! Bottom line is - it's worth what someone is willing to pay. Too little demand (over supply) then price is reduced (or freebies given or other sweetener) Enough demand - price is RIGHT Too much demand - two choices 1) Make more 2) Charge more. VW have "realigned" their model price UPWARDS (or reduced spec for same price) many times in their history. Whether it be electric windows, radio, power-steering, sunroof, air con vs climate, alloys etc At the moment this trend is downwards across the manufacturers - some more than others. Just have a look they are all producing too many (of the wrong cars?) for too few buyers. There are many free upgrades or low rate finance or free insurance offers etc. Actually - I can't remember a time Citroen sold a car WITH VAT!! ![]()
