Question vRS Alloy Wheel Weight

Anyone know what the 18" vRS alloys weigh?. Just pondering thoughts of changing to 19's but don't want to spoil the handling by getting something too heavy.

Re: vRS Alloy Wheel Weight

I don't know the answer, but I would be interested as well.

On my previous mk1 vRS I changed from the OEM wheels to 18" wheels I bought from ebay! The weight difference I would guess was about 2 or 3 kilos per wheel. It made a massive difference in the feel and handling...for the worse! However they looked great so I stuck with them!

So I'm on the hunt for some 19" lightweight wheels

Re: vRS Alloy Wheel Weight

Not sure of the OE 18" wheel weights (either Zenith or B14) but guess they are around 13kg-15kg each (without tyre).

I do know that if you want a LIGHT wheel the best options are Team Dynamics Pro Race 2 or Pro Race 1.2 OR the fantastic OZ Racing Superturismo or Ultraleggera. Each of these wheels is in the range of being only 9kg to 12kg per wheel.

There is, however, a limited availability of the correct size (pcd/offset) manufactured for the Octavia, as I found out when researching which wheels to have on the vRS I've just ordered (OE or other). I plumped for the convenience of getting the dealer fit B14s in the end (18").

When I changed from OEM alloys to Team Dynamics Pro Race 2s on my Furby I found that the OEM 205/45x16s with 5 mm of tread weighed the same as 205/40x17s with 8 mm of tread. So the new wheels were lighter, but not by a huge margin. At least they weren't heavier!
