Warranty back up from Skoda

You may have read my earlier thread(VRS TDi Problems) well, these problems are now reaching breaking point(mine!!!!) and to say that I am less than impressed with Skodas reaction is,to put it mildly, somewhat of an understatement!!!!

I am currently locked in a loop between customer services and the dealer principal, with each awaiting the other!!

Has anyone else had the unhappy misfortune of rejecting a vehicle from skoda?

Or any other incurable warranty problems?

Re: Warranty back up from Skoda

From a Legal point of view you have a contract with the dealer not skoda UK.

Therefore you are entirely within your rights (and the sooner you do it the better) to inform the dealer you purchased the car from (in writing) that they have one final opportunity to rectify the problems detailed with your car (detail them on the letter) or you will be formally rejecting the car as not fit for purpose under (whatever section of whatever law it is).

The dealer can not fob you off with 'ahh but skoda anything' as that is his problem not yours.

Re: Warranty back up from Skoda

Bounce it straight back to the dealer.

You'll be guarenteed a quick reaction. The dealer won't want it back as he'll loose and he'll push SUK. You'll either get it fixed or get your money back.

As Mark says, the sooner the better and send the letter by recorded or special delivery copied to SUK for info. No messing around with them now, you've given them the opportunity.

Re: Warranty back up from Skoda

Stu,

this is easy to say,but not when the supplying dealer is 149 miles from where you live!

Anyway they have just had the car back for almost a week and STILL the EML light has come on!!

Thats now 14 visits to a dealer!!!!

Re: Warranty back up from Skoda

I know they are a fair way from you but once you give them notice you can also tell them to come and collect it. Is the car on HP?

Re: Warranty back up from Skoda

Yes Stu-to Skoda finance!

todays anomalies were:door lock light on whilst driving and glow plug light flashing with fault message in the maxidot-both were reset by locking/unlocking the car again.

I am still awaiting the dealer to tell me what happens next,as I like the car and I'm loath to take that 'last step'

Don't think after all this though that I would have another-or even another VAG car with the 170TDi engine!!

I have been in touch with Skoda finance, and am getting daily calls from Skoda customer service-it's just that none of them seem to want 'come forward'

Does anyone have Chris Crafts' email address?-I'm told he's Skodas' MD

I think it's time to use the power of ink and paper rather than Phonecalls now.

A good, well worded and stern letter will often provoke a reaction.

Re: Warranty back up from Skoda

Today I am told that they want to send my 'errant' VRS TDi to a Skoda 'centre of excellance' or a'full reporting dealer' for a complete diagnosis.

Anyone know what they're talking about?

Todays annomally:removed the ignition keys and the radio continued to play for about 20 seconds?!?!

Perhaps my car needs 'exorcising'

Re: Warranty back up from Skoda

I saw a similar thing on telly for Audi.

They had a car down at Milton Keynes and some 'expert' from Germany came over and fixed it in under an hour. Just comes down to experiance.
