Washer Fluid level sensor

Hi All,

I have an Irish-spec RS and I've been told by my dealer that a washer fluid level sensor isn't standard on my car desipte the manual saying that it is. Apparently it is standard on cars fitted with Xeon headlights.

Has anyone else noticed the lack of this sensor on their RS?

Re: Washer Fluid level sensor

Could you get the washer tank out of one with the sensor in it and then swap it over connect it up and say you have it.

I didin't realise you didn't get it without the Xennons, thought that was just the old one. The book doesn't imply that the sensor is only with Xennons, but then the New VRS is based on the classic

Re: Washer Fluid level sensor

On the Mk1 it was only a car with Headlamp Washers which had them IIRC, I assume its the same with the Mk2. The manual covers all cases, maybe in Germany etc they are Std.

A Mk II Elegance should have this then, as it does have washers?

Hi Stu,

No, I don't have VAG-COM. The dealer connected the car up to the computer and obviously couldn't find a sensor and then assumed it wasn't working when in fact it didn't exist.

I have headlight washers - standard on Elegance.

Can you not just continue to spray the jets with the wipers away from the screen and see it is goes "ping" ?

I was just wondering out of curiosity as someone else mentioned it, I have Xenons..which come with the washers so it should have the sensor...I never let the fliud go low enough to check.
