What extras to get on a VRS TDi ?????

I've decided to purchase.

I'm planning to get a VRS TDi on July 1st (when the new REDUCED VRT rates come in over here) and I'm trying to decide what extras to spec on it.

The plan is to add parking sensors (her-indoors really wants them) and Xenons (I really want them).

Is there anything else that is worth adding?

I don't think so but I'm interested to hear you opinions.

IRL.

Re: What extras to get on a VRS TDi ?????

Rocket launchers could work well.
Agreed on the Xenons and parking sensors. Well worth the extra.

Does the Mk2 RS come with ESP? I wish I'd added that to mine. One of those things that you hope never to use but could save your life one day.

Also the maxi-dot display is pretty cool.

Re: What extras to get on a VRS TDi ?????

Definitely Maxidot and parking sensors followed by Xenons, 18's and the Dual zone + Jumbo + Rear electric windows.

After that it is down to personal choice but auto lights and rain sensing wipers are popular.

You don't get rear leccy windows? That's a bit tight!

Re: What extras to get on a VRS TDi ?????

Rear leccy windows, Jumbo box and dual zone are a bundle for about £450 in the UK. With Jumbo box comes Aux input as well.

Looks like the OP is in Ireland and I am sure the options are different over there.

Re: What extras to get on a VRS TDi ?????

Xenons, maxidot, 18s, climate/jumbo/rear elec windows, rear parking (don't need front); in order of preference although all pretty equally desirable.

Oh; heated seats as well.

ESP is standard in UK and I'd expect to also be in Eire.

For the last year they have been part of a free equipment upgrade along with the 18" Zenith alloys

Trying to look at the Skoda Eire spec sheet is a pain, I notice you don't have to pay extra for metallic paint and I can't find what the avaliable options are.

But you get these as std that we dont:

Maxidot
rear electric windows
jumbo box with aux in
dual zone climate
Rain sensor wipers
Tunnel assist (auto lights)
Cruise control

so you can ignore what anyone says about getting those as extras.

But it looks as though you don't get a 6 disc autochanger in the boot, so I would say either get that or if you have an Ipod, get the proper connector for that so you can control it from the radio insread (it would probably work out cheaper too).

plus rear parking sensors and Xenons. Maybe the 18" alloy upgrade too. Thats about it really

But then again you will be paying €29,373 (£23,396) when the new tax band comes in so I would expect most of those to be standard when paying that much

Surely you would be better off buying one over here or in Northern Ireland and bringing exporting it???

Hi, I will be ordering one in Ireland aswell. I would spec heated seats, rear park and sound system with Audience head unit and Xenon everything else is standard including cruise control! By July you should be able to spec DSG aswell.

I should be getting mine delivered next week. I specced the xenons, parking sensors and the alarm. All the rest of the bits are standard on the irish RS.

Have you seen how much the car costs for them a UK vrs specced up to Eire spec is still over £3k less for us.

At the moment in Eire the Tdi VRS costs €33,190 (£26,493), when the new Irish tax band comes in in July it will go down to €29,373 (£23,396). How can anyone moan about rip off Britain when compared to that.

Re: What extras to get on a VRS TDi ?????

I'll have a new one on the road here as a straight deal for €27,500 to €27,750 depending on where I buy.

It means ordering now and collecting in July.

I've looked at the option of buying in UK / NI and importing it but I can actually get it cheaper here on a straight deal when the VRT is taken into account.

Yesterday I came across an '07 with about 35,000 kms on it that can be bought straight for €22,500 so the prices are coming down.

To bring the same car in and pay the duty would actually cost €24k.

BTW, how much is the alarm over here (I forgot to ask but I did mean to) ?

Are you talking about a TDi after July for 27k?? The alarm is a 300 euro extra.

Re: What extras to get on a VRS TDi ?????

There are/were 2 options, First there is the standard alarm with interior monitoring (€251) we can also provide the same alarm but with an additional tow away protection (€305). These are old prices but give a ball-park figure.
I think the only option you might also want is maybe the 18's and the Curtain Airbags if it floats your boat. Also heated seats are nice if your into them. It is possible to fit a Xenon kit which gives the same affect and is a lot cheaper, see them on Vagdrivers.net.

Btw what colour are you getting? White looks nice
