Anyone Got A Secret ?

Just on a lighter note, let's hear from anyone who has a 'claim to fame' that nobody knows about on the forum.
Mine was in 1982, I was the 'unnoficial' world champion at Pac Man.
It was unnoficial because at the time, the score was not ratified by a governing body or witness. It was seen by many spectators in the Las Vegas arcade in Liverpool (by Lime Street station).
It was called 'splitting the screen' (no, I didn't put my fist through it) .
When you cleared 257 KEYS, (you know, the fruit bonuses etc) it was programmed by Namco that nobody would reach the end, so, the maze split into 2 halves. One side was the maze, the other just coding, numbers, fruit etc).
My highest score was - 3,257,300 - It took 5 hours.
My score was witnessed by the Management of the Arcade and published in Computer and video games magazine that year.
I finished the game on 14 occasions and did this without losing a life.
I was only 14 at the time.

Dunno how famous it is but I was amongst a load of teenagers evacuated off Dartmoor in 1996 after the Ten Tors hiking/navigating event was cancelled.... It was Mid May, snowing, and -15 degree windchill! It made national main headlines on BBC1 news at nine. "TEENAGERS RESCUED" There was about 1500 of us all though, so I was just one of many.

When at college I worked for two weekends at Broadlands House in Romsey as an assistant Butler

Served dinner to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and friends, had all thier food cooked by a chef from Mosimans (sp) in London (of which there was plenty left over for the staff )

In my youth, I had a summer job in a local hotel as a silver service waiter, and amongs other guests at the time of the golf championship, i served Linda Lusardi, Cheverolet Ballast eros, and a few other people who walk around hitting things with funny sticks.

Oh, and on other occasions as a mobile dj, i met such high profile celebs like Jimmy Cricket, who sadly didnt utter "Come here and there's more", Emile Ford - 1950's has been pop sensation with "What do you want to make those eyes at me for" which he sang 4 times every night.
"Ron" from Brookside. Jon Culshaw, whom I was quite pally with at one point (does impressions on the telly now, I forget the name of the show, but he's very good), quite a few actually now I come to think about it.

Roy Walker (local), (runs of to add to a possibly offensive thread), The late Les Dawson, Freddie Starr, Lenny Henry............. starting to scare myself now.

PMSL at Shifty's "chevrolet ballast eros".never heard that one. i like.

Let's see.......apart from coming from the same town as Gracie "voice like fingernails down a blackboard" Fields, i went to the same secondary school as Lisa Stansfield.

I've actually had dinner with Raymond Blanc and his g/f. She's a bit weird, being a nutritionist or something, but he's a top bloke. We chatted for ages about food of the world. though he was quite surprised that i was heavily into chinese cuisine as opposed to the jamie oliver/gary rhodes style stuff.
(also met the spikey haird genius, and Ken Hom..... )

I've queued at a veg stall in Muswell Hill behind one Mr Eric Clapton, but was reneder a dumb mute at his presence.....damnit.

But my biggest secret is.......my uncle was bass player in "eyes of blue/big sleep" back in the 60's that did a few albums, YES used to actually go and watch them at gigs, and he had his own solo album.
and yes, i've got them all, in mint condition...

I know Van Morrison's ma! Haven't seen her in a while though so either he's persuaded her to move out of her wee house in East Belfast or she's dead! Haven't met him thankfully as I think he's a ****. Quite like some of his music though.

Got an unfeasibly big score on asteroids one Friday night. Had half the arcade watching (Southend sea front), but got bored with it and wandered off before I lost a life. Didnt really notice the crowd until I turned round. Amazing the effects of 3 red gels (est 2100 micrograms of LSD). Didnt come off the peak until Sunday night. Asteroids was however not the highlight of the weekend.

No significant claims to fame. Have 1 handshake access to the PM, but he is a cnut and I would not p*ss on him if he were on fire, let alone talk to him.

Chris
