| Briskodian | How to launder £20 - £40m Further to the armed raid on a money store in kent, I was wondering how you'd convert £20 - £40m cash into usable currency? Property buying seems to be pretty well guarded against such things these days and you cant just pay it into the bank or spend it on your weekly grocery shopping. |

| Briskodian | Re: How to launder £20 - £40m Apparently £20m of it is in used notes so very easy to use - the remainder was in transit from the Bank of England to regional branches of high street banks. This chunk is all in new notes and very easy to trace. £20m bonfire anyone? These deserted farm buildings can get very chilly at this time of year ![]() The Police seem to think the manager was pulled over by 2 people impersonating traffic policemen in an estate car....... shhhh.......... | Briskodian | Re: How to launder £20 - £40m There are various countries where you can quite easily launder it, but getting it to those countries is the problem. you're talking about one big pile of money. A spokesman stated earlier that the people who carried out this crime are greedy and stupid. I think he will find out hes very wrong. In order to carry out something like this you would have to be very clever. But I'll reserve my judgement until they have gotten away with it. |

| Re: How to launder £20 - £40m I think that spokesman was a little premature with his assessment. If you plan a heist like that you must have already plans in place for movement offshore. Did they ever catch the last lot who stole the gold or money from Heathrow ?? |

| Re: How to launder £20 - £40m The used notes will be very easy to rid... No one will batter an eyelid unless they all pimp around in fur coats and caddies tomorrow, when yesterday they were wearing tesco's jeans and driving mini metros LOL. New notes will get spotted easilly, so it wasn't really worth their time nicking them. |

| Briskodian | Re: How to launder £20 - £40m Maybe Centrica was the Mastermind They don't have a lot of money just now LOL, so hard currency could be useful for backhanders when trying to buy gas from Russia. On topic, at an offshore bank's representative office (i.e. sales only), we had someone arrive with a battered suitcase... Re Goochie: Well, sort of, but yes, 50 Million must be a drop in the ocean in white-collar fraud values. We had a thread recently about keyholding - who'd want that one? Mo |
